My name is Dabney. I’m a registered dental hygienist working in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, Virginia. I’m a nerd that enjoys learning…especially about health. As a hygienist, I’m trained to prevent disease in the oral environment, but it goes much further than that. Our mouth is the gateway to our whole body. What we put into it matters. I’m passionate about healthy cooking and enjoy experiencing new recipes that I will share with you. The purpose of this blog it to provide information to assist others in living a healthy lifestyle by encouraging nutrition, exercise, oral hygiene, and living fully for Christ.
My journey to better health became a passion in 2012 when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, he passed away in 2016, but not without a fight. I began to delve into alternative ways to fight cancer and learned a great deal along the way. My dream is to PREVENT the cancer diagnosis. A cancer diagnosis changes a person forever. Cancer touches everyone, whether it’s a loved one, a friend, or a co-worker. The verse below has been my go to when things seem out of control. I pray you will find the information on this site to be not only helpful, but encouraging as well.
“Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all ways acknowledge Him and he will keep your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
